Keys To Success Online - Plan For it

Marketers come online and they're in such a hurry to
make money, they neglect one of the most essential
ingredients to success.

They don't take the time to put together their battle
plan. They know where they want to go, but they never
sit down and map out how they're going to get there.

If you're serious about your online business, you need a plan.

Your business should be planned like a well thought out
battle. If you haven't got your plan in place you'll
suffer casualties.

You won't suffer loss of life, but you will suffer
losses of:

* Money

* Time

* Opportunity

Just as the well honed warrior prepares for all possible
occurrences, you must be prepared to last through the
slow times, and be just as prepared to capitalize on the
times when it appears you can do no wrong.

The first step on your march to the flag is to decide
who you are. In the immortal words of Shakespeare, "In
brief sir, study that which you most affect".

Know your strengths and know your weaknesses. You'll
never be truly successful until you've first made an
inventory of your-self. You can study all the "How-To's"
and you may even make money, but to be truly be successful
you must have your "Why-To's" in place.

Once you've decided who you are and listed your
strengths and weaknesses, the next step is to determine
how much money you have for your war chest.

Only use money you can afford to lose. As any
professional trader or championship gambler will tell
you, "Scared money never wins!"

Don't mortgage your house or max-out your credit cards
because you've got the million dollar sure-fire winner.

You'll be so busy worrying, you won't be able to think
clearly.

Take money you won't miss and test-test-test. Your
thinking will be much clearer and when your testing
finally hits on a winning formula you'll be ready to
capitalize.

When you've got your winning formula, you should pyramid
your profits to expand your business. A minimum of 50%
of your profits should go back into your business in the
first 6 months.

If you're only using money you can live comfortably
without, you should place 100% back into marketing,
you'll have plenty of time to enjoy the fruits of your
labors!

The final step in your battle plan is to keep a log book.

Just as generals study battles from the past and chess
players study strategies from the old masters, you must
begin your own manual.

Don't rely on your memory!!

In your manual keep every advertising campaign you've
waged. Be as detailed as possible. List what has worked
and what hasn't.

Key your ads to determine where your profits are coming
from.

Test media used, actual ads and sells letters, etc.
Sculpt your business. If your business is based on
profits, the best way to insure profits is the same way
you'd carve an elephant out of granite.

"Remove everything that's not an elephant!"

In your business remove everything that isn't profitable.

Be ruthless with that chisel.

Don't marry any method of promotion, or any one
opportunity.

If you do you'll spend time chasing losses, instead of
accumulating profits.

Put some thought and effort into your plan and you'll
be a step ahead of the competition.

How Personal Are You In Your Email Marketing?"

Copyright © 2006, Chris Stirling

If you market your business using email you probably already use some form of personalization in your emails. If you don't you really should. If you DO use personalization you might not be doing as much as you should.

The most common form of "personalization" in email marketing is to include your recipient's first name in the Subject Line of your email, and also in your "salutation", as well as repeating it at least once in the first few lines of your message.

You probably use personalization because you know that it increases both "open rates" and "click through rates" substantially.

But there are other forms of "personalization" that can improve your results even further.

You might, for instance, send out an email that in some way references their most recent product purchase, and the date. You do that using your autoresponder software, and the "automatic merge" function. You store the info you need in your database, and then construct a message that "merges" the information right into the email.

Each customer then gets a "customized" email that refers to what product they purchased, or how long it has been since they purchased from you, or how long they've been a subscriber to your newsletter.

To do this, you need to collect as much information as you can about your subscribers. You might do so using a survey which asks about their most pressing problems in their business. Or you might simply try to gather the information right on your subscription form.

Another way to do this is to gather and store information about your customers ... what products they've bought, the dates of their purchases, etc.

Once you have that information, you can take your efforts at personalizing your messages to a whole new level. You must keep in mind that people *prefer* to feel that you know something about them, and personalizing your emails to them is a great way to accomplish this.

Studies have shown that merely personalizing with your recipient's name increases response substantially. Studies have also shown that adding other personalizing information will sometimes exponentially increase response rates even further.

SucessMotivator for the week of Monday, February 20, 2006

"50 percent of the solution to any problem lies in defining the problem. Once you've had the courage and commitment to lay it out to yourself exactly as it is, then you cannot and will not spend another day in a fantasy. You must acknowledge that you have to gain knowledge if you want the power to change" - Phillip C. McGraw, PhD

Often we continue doing what we have always done because we are more comfortable with the situation than the pain of making change. Too often we believe that if we continue to do what we have always done that we will always get what we have always gotten. But we forget the law of diminishing results and therefore if we continue to do what we have always done, things will get worse.

When you think about this in terms of your business and attempting to succeed in this network marketing industry, are you really getting the results you want? Do you know where you are and where you are heading? Do you truly know what it takes for you to succeed and reach your goals? Are you more satisfied with your current financial result from your business? Or are you fed up to a point that you not only know you need to make a change but are willing to make the commitment to make the change?

Success does not come easy nor does it come to those who wait. You can't sit idle hoping things will improve in your business. It comes down to you being a person who is willing to make things happen.

But where do you start? You start with acknowledgement! Acknowledge where you are and where you want to be. Acknowledge the fact that things are as they are and will not change unless you change what you are doing. It takes a thorough assessment of your goals and of your action plan. It takes action. It takes consistent action. It takes a commitment to not "settle" for the mediocre results 95% of the population accepts.

Realize, you can't change what you do not acknowledge. When 50% of the solution is acknowledging the problem, you can see that finding a solution will be a whole lot easier. So often we find marketers who are unwilling to accept the fact they have a problem in their business that begins with the marketer themselves. When one is always blaming others (their upline, competition, the market, the leads, etc), they will never find the solution. Rather they will jump to always find the other side of the fence that is greener. Unfortunately, these same marketers are always jumping fences.
Think about what you have as a business. Keep in mind that 98% of the timeyou already have the right vehicle. You have Leaders Club (your resource for the truth in building a network marketing business. You have you, the CEO of your business.

Take this resources and put them to work. Begin acknowledging the problems within your business (such as low levels of prospecting activity, non-commitment of consistent action, lack of discipline to stick with it in the tough challenges, low self-confidence, etc.). Get with your coach or upline leader and discuss a possible solution. Be sure to also tap into the resources at Leaders Club to gain the knowledge to make change

TIP - Do NOT accept the solution of "do more of it" from any coach or upline. Your solution should be time and action specific.

When you look for the top 5 internet online auction sites, you will find that different sources will give you different answers. What remains the same is that eBay is consistently on top of the list. The success of the seller adds to the success of eBay, so they give the seller a number of tools to help them get a good price.

Yahoo! auctions ranks is another site that is consisently in the list of top 5 internet online auction sites. Amazon.com auctions, UBid.com, and bida-lot.com are also highly rated for sellers.

While it's important to sell at a site where there are a large number of buyers, remember that competition is also much tougher at sites like eBay. Check out the sites to make sure there is a market for what you are selling, then consider the competition for your product. While eBay may seem to sell anything, it doesn't mean that everybody who lists an item there sells it or gets the price they want.

Avoid Home Business Scams

Copyright © 2006, Chris Stirling

Many websites claim to offer home business opportunties. Some people do make money at home through online jobs, but many of these so-called opportunities are scams. How do you know the difference? Here are some tips for avoiding home business scams.

First, use some common sense. If you are looking because you're short on funds, it can be easy to talk yourself into believing the promises you will read online. Try to look at the offers objectively. Many scams try to convince you that you will become wealthy with little effort, and you might even see on the website that this is some "secret" for making money that is just now being revealed. Much later they reveal the cost for learning the secret. Before buying this kind of information, take a moment to wonder why it's being sold. If it's really that effective, the person selling it should be wealthy and not need to sell anything.

Second, don't get involved in a pyramid scheme. These are programs that pay you to recruit but don't really have a product to sell. You make money by getting other people to join the system. This only works for those who start the pyramid scheme, and is illegal in several states. Note that this is not the same as home party or similar plans where you get a percentage from what you sell in addition to a percentage from those you recruit.

Third, don't pay to stuff envelopes or make products. In fact, don't pay to work for anybody.

Avoiding home business scams means avoiding anything that offers easy wealth. It also means avoiding paying to work for somebody. Don't expect anything online that makes no sense in the real world. Don't get scammed.

The Growth of E-Commerce

Copyright © 2006, Chris Stirling

It's amazing all the changes in the way people do business in the short time since the beginning of the e-commerce revolution. The e-commerce revolution was predicted in the early stages of the internet. Those who predicted the sweeping business changes brought about by the world wide web knew what they were talking about.

In the early days of the e-commerce revolution customers were reluctant to give their credit card information to somebody on the internet. They were afraid the number would be used fraudulently. With time and increased security, consumers no longer hesitate to give credit card numbers. In fact, people now apply for them online.

The e-commerce revolution has involved virtually every type of business there is. It is now becoming unusual to learn of people who do not have internet access in their home, especially if they have school-age children. Almost every workplace uses the internet. People have learned to go first to the web when they want information, particularly when they want information on new products or information on how to increase their earnings. Some people even conduct much of their social life online. This will only continue to grow because the kids of today are increasingly web savvy.

E-commerce offers both price and time savings to individuals. As we become increasingly busy, it's quicker to go online to find products instead of driving from store to store. Often the product is less expensive online, even after paying for shipping.

If you are doing business, you need a web presence. If you don't have one you are losing potential customers. This will become more important in the future. The e-commerce revolution is not going to end anytime soon. It's time to join it.

Tax Deductions for Home Based Businesses

Copyright © 2006, Chris Stirling

A big advantage of working from home is the tax benefits of operating a home based business. Working from home allows you to deduct portions of bills that you are already paying to live there.

You can deduct home expenses if you actually work in your home. It is easiest to do this if you have a room set aside for your business. Figure out how bit that room is in proportion to the house, and you can deduct expenses using that percentage.

For example, if your place of doing business takes up 5% of your house, you can deduct 5% of your heating expenses for the days you work. (In other words, if you don't work weekends, you can't deduct for weekends.) YOu can deduct items such as mortgage interest (though not your mortgage itself), electricity, telephone, insurance, and expenses for maintenance and repair. In general, you can deduct the portion of expenses that directly relates to your business.

You can deduct costs for your internet service provider in proportion to the amount you use it on business, too. If it's used completely for business you can deduct it all, but be certain before you do this that you are not using it for other reasons.

The tax benefits of operating a home based business enable you to deduct things you would otherwise be paying in full. If you are considering a business from home, it's a good way to lower your costs. This is just one more advantage of working from home.

Starting a web design business is not much different from starting other businesses. Just knowing how to design a website is not enough. Signing Your Email

Copyright © 2006, Chris Stirling

You have probably received countless emails with signature files. A signature file is the file at the end of the email that adds extra information. Some people use the signature file to include their name, title, and company name. Others personalize it with their favorite quote. Whatever your desire, you can make a signature file that works for you.

A signature file is an easy way to market your business. Setting up your signature file with your website address lets everybody you write to know about your site. This is an easy way to market your site and its products without incurring any extra cost.

Take time to come up with a good signature file if you are using it for advertising. Don't forget to put your website and contact information in your signature file. Add information that makes the person who receives the email care about your site or product. For example, if you are marketing a site that is designed to make money for others, add a line about the money they could be making now.

A signature file can also include a text picture. Pictures are generally useful for capturing the attention of the reader, but use caution so that the picture doesn't get in the way of the message.

Don't forget to place a direct link to the product you are promoting. This seems obvious, but often people make the mistake of providing a website address in their signature file without taking the time to link to a specific product.

Used wisely, signature files can be an effective way to gain business. They can be used with any email program. If you haven't set one up yet, what are you waiting for?

Selling Information Online

Copyright © 2006, Chris Stirling

It used to be that people went to the library when they needed information. Now they turn to the internet. Even with all the information already out there, selling information still provides an opportunity for anybody looking for a product that is easy to create and quick to bring to market.

Selling information can be done in a variety of ways. Often e-books come to mind when people think of selling information. These are books produced online that are designed to be downloaded immediately after the customer orders them. Newsletters offer another opportunity for selling information online. These are generally offered though a website.

Websites are also a source of selling information online. Through websites, selling information can be done in a variety of ways. Some websites offer subscription-only sites, where paid members gain full access to the site. Others give information about products they are selling and then provide a link to the product. Writers sell information to website owners when they produce website content. Adding affiliate programs is one more option for selling information.

Selling information online has several advantages over selling other items. Websites can be set up in a matter of hours. There is no inventory when selling information. If you are selling information in the form of e-books, there is no shipping involved. The ordering and delivery process is completely automated, and you can even sell products while you are asleep.

Search the internet for ideas. You will find a many people selling information on the web. Maybe it's time for you to join them.

How To Make Money Online

Copyright © 2006, Chris Stirling

Making money online used to be easier. With fewer websites, it was easier for people to find you. This is not true any longer. Still, some people do well online. What are the secrets of online money makers?

The secrets of online money makers are mostly common sense. If you want to make money online, do something you love. Then realize that this is going to take time and effort.

Many people are looking for quick riches or easy wealth. The secret of online money makers is that they are prepared to work hard. They choose something they love so that they stay motivated. Online money makers learn everything they can about promoting their particular form of making money. They don't expect immediate wealth. They work on their business daily and continue to learn as they grow.

Promotion is a critical secret of online money makers. Promotion helps customers find them. Sometimes the rules of search engines change, and online money makers keep up with these changes. It's what they do for a living.

Good customer service is another essential secret of online money makers. You want customers who will come back and customers who will tell others about you. It's no longer just word of mouth when a business serves somebody well. Now that customer might tell some friends in an email, who will tell other friends, and work can get around pretty fast. They can also post their reviews at various websites, which can gain you more customers.

The secrets of online money makers are not any different than making money any other way. It's about doing what you love, working hard, learning to promote, and serving the customer well. If you can do that, you can make money online.

Online Business That Make Money

Copyright © 2006, Chris Stirling

There are a lot of profitable online business opportunities. People make money online doing everything imaginable. What you need to remember is that the money doesn't come automatically. Profitable online business opportunities take time and effort.

Information is still a key moneymaker on the internet. You can give information in a variety of ways. Some people offer newsletters. Often two versions are offered, free and subscription. The free newsletter does not give as much information as the paid newsletter. The free letter should entice readers to switch to the paid edition.

E-books are becoming more popular. Like any product, they have to be promoted so customers can find them. If you have good writing skills, there are several places on the internet where you can publish your e-book. To make this an even more profitable online business opportunity, use the e-book in conjunction with a website or products you are selling.

Other profitable online business opportunities include selling products. Most products are sold through auction sites or websites. You have more potential to stand out from the crowd if you choose a niche product.

Some profitable online business opportunities are provided through freelance positions. If you are good at writing or web design, you can offer your services to websites seeking design or content. Once you have developed a client base, this can be quite profitable.

Profitable online business opportunities can be found in most fields. Just remember that success probably won't come immediately. Learn all you can about the business and online promotion and you will find that your client base on the internet expands to the entire world.

Making Money Selling on eBay

Copyright © 2006, Chris Stirling

When people think of online auctions, they think of eBay. Sellers seem willing to sell anything on eBay, and often find buyers for even the most offbeat items.

Some people work full time selling products on eBay. How do they manage to operate a successful eBay auction business?

Those searching for this information will often be advised to check eBay for best sellers in order to choose a successful product. This can work, but it's best if you sell a product you already know something about. You will then know the quality, describe the item well, and be able to set a realistic price.

Those three elements are important aspects in operating a successful eBay auction. Keywords are another important aspect. Potential buyers find your item through the use of keywords. After finding the items they are interested in, they look at price. If the price is still something they are willing to pay, they read your description and look at pictures you have uploaded to see what kind of condition the item is in.

Pricing has it's own strategy. Often a seller will post the price they paid for the item, knowing that anything more is profit. Others operate a successful eBay acution by offering prices starting at a penny or a dollar, knowing there are people who can't resist a deal. Once the bidding start, buyers get caught up in the bidding and spend more than they planned.

For operating successful eBay auctions, start with a limited number of products. Use eBay tools to help you write your ad. Make sure it ends at a time of day when people are awake. Try different strategies, read what works for others, and you should find a way to operate a successful eBay auction.

Making Millions Online

Copyright © 2006, Chris Stirling

How much money can you make online? Are there really online millionaires?

The internet can greatly expand your ways to sell products or services. Some people have been able to use this to make a great deal of money. Some companies that operate only on the net have made online millionaires of their founders.

Before the internet there were auctions, but no eBay. With thousands of items sold daily, each one making a profit for eBay, there is no doubt that the founders must be online millionaires.

Before the internet there were bookstores, but no Amazon.com. Amazon is now outdoing traditional bookstores. Don't you wish you were the founder of Amazon?

Online millionaires start with an idea and a belief in themselves. They find a way to set themselves apart from the rest. Like real world millionaires, they often have enough faith in their ideas that they risk their own money and even seek additional funding elsewhere. Once they get started, they make themselves big enough that the other competition does not threaten them.

Online millionaires start early in the game. For example, now that we have eBay, people often forget there are other auctions. The only real competition Amazon has is traditional bookstores that were always there.

If you want to be an online millionaire, think of a need that is still largely unfulfilled. After that, you will probably have to believe in your idea enough to take some financial risks. If it doesn't work, you lose your investment. If it does, you might join the ranks of online millionaires

Online Marketing Strategies

Copyright © 2006, Chris Stirling

If you own a website or other business on the internet, you need customers. With all the competing websites, how do they find you?

You need to have some good strategies for marketing an online business. One of the most used strategies for markeing an online business is learning to get a high search engine ranking. If you don't rank highly you may have difficulty being found.

There are some key methods for high ranking. Start by keeping everything on your site relevant to the subject. This makes good sense anyway because once the customer has found you, you want him to stick around. Choose a domain name and website title that fit well with your business keywords. Your title should be easy to remember. Links to your website make a difference in search engine rankings, so contact sites that offer information complementing yours and ask for reciprocal links. Be aware that this information can change as search engines redesign their methods for relevant results.

Another strategy for marketing an online business is to use pay-per-click advertising. This can be a fast way to get listed high in the search engines. There are several providers of pay-per-click advertising. It pays to check out a variety to see which suits your needs the best.

Ways For Making Money Online

Copyright © 2006, Chris Stirling

There are actually many different ideas for making money online. Some of them are obviously more lucrative than others, however. Also, there are many scams for supposedly making money online that don't really work, and you end up losing money.

As a general rule, if the online money making opportunity asks for money, it is probably not a good thing. Legitimate ways to make money online will not ask you for money to get the job. The only exception to this is for home businesses. Many home businesses require an upfront investment from you. If you decide that a home business is the best way to go for making money online, then you will probably have to spend some money to get started. However, many people have been very successful with home businesses.

One way that people are making money online is by having several different income streams. This means that you do a bunch of things online that make a little bit of money, which turns out to be a reasonable amount of money when you add them all up. For instance, some people fill out surveys, do some writing, read emails, sell things on Ebay or even do affiliate marketing. These are all ways to have multiple streams of income making money online.

There are actual jobs available online. However, there is a lot of competition for them. Telecommuting from home is one of the best ways for making money online. You need to have an excellent resume and to do a lot of research to find the companies that are hiring people with your skills.

To make money online, you have to find the opportunities. Until you are making the kind of money you would like to, don't quit your day job.

Make Money With Blogs

Copyright © 2006, Chris Stirling

You spend hours every day with your weblog. It's become a labor of love. Wouldn't it be nice to find a way to earn some extra money with your weblog?

There are ways of making money online with blogs. The method you've probably seen on most blogs is to host ads, such as with Google Adsense. You let Google put their ads on your site and get paid when people click on the ads. These get mixed reviews. Some say they make a lot this way, but many people don't report much income. Since they are free to ad to your site, it doesn't hurt to try.

Affiliate programs work on blogs as well as they work on websites. Affiliate with companies that sell products related to your site. When people click on the link in your blog and purchase a product, you profit. This is another way of making money online with blogs that doesn't cost you anything. If you are passionate about a product and write about it, this can work well.

If you have a website, blog about some aspect of it and provide a link. Your weblog can effectively sell the product, and all the customer has to do is click to your site and order it.

You will never make money with your blog unless people can find it. Search engines seem to prefer blogs because they tend to be content rich. It helps to stick to one topic. If your blog serves a niche market, it will have less competition.

Making money online with blogs is possible. Consider your blog as another avenue for making money online with little or no cost. Write about what you love, market your blog, and see if the money will follow.

Earning With Affiliate Programs

Copyright © 2006, Chris Stirling

You've probably heard of affiliate programs. Companies use affiliate pograms to sell their products. The most common way for making money online with affiliate programs is through posting a link on your website. When a customer clicks on that link and buys the product, you earn a commission.

There are many advantages to making money online with affiliate programs. Startup costs are minimal. The only money you spend is to promote the product, whether through a website or other means. You don't actually sell the product, so you don't spend time shipping the products or money to buy them at wholesale prices, hoping to sell them later. Another advantage is that you don't have to worry about unsatisfied customers returning the product to you.

A good way to start making money online with affiliate programs is to find a subject you are interested in and start a website. After the website is up, find companies that sell this product and register to be an affiliate. They will give you some code to paste in your website. You can use text codes or pictures, but text code seems to be the most effective for converting to sales.

Look at websites in your area of interest. For example, if you are interested in music, look at sites devoted to your favorite musicians. Study them to see how they place ads. Notice your responses to those ads. Some are annoying, but others will make you want to click through. Learn from this and place ads similar to those that interested you.

Starting a website devoted to something you love is rewarding. If you need some extra money, making money online with affiliate programs can be a useful addition to something you already enjoy.

Basics of Making Money Online

Copyright © 2006, Chris Stirling

As with any way to make money, the best way of making money online is to follow your passions. First find something you love to do, then find a way to use it for making money online.

There are many websites with ideas for making money online. Some are scams, but many have good ideas. To start making money online, look through sites that offer ideas in the field you are intersted in. Remember that making money online is still a job, and you want a job that you like.

Once you have narrowed down your ideas, consider costs. If you are on a budget, it will narrow down your ideas even more. For any program that you have to buy into, find other people who have worked in the program to see if it really made them any money. Some people make money online by selling programs that don't work that well. Make sure the costs involved in the program you are buying make sense. If they do, and if you find others who have been successful, you might be on the right track.

You also need to consider your time commitment. Find a way to make money online that won't take up all of your spare time if you are already working a full time job.

Once you have determined how you plan to make money online, spend the time you need. Many people start an online business but lose interest and quit. Find a business that you love so you want to stay with it. Finding a way to do what you love is the best way to make money online.

Investing Online

Copyright © 2006, Chris Stirling

Not so long ago the stock market seemed as if it was in a never-ending upward spiral. Stories were everywhere about people who took advantage of stock opportunities. Many of them saved money by foregoing the traditional stockbroker and doing it themselves. They learned about making money investing online.

If you are interested in making money investing online, you first need to know something about stocks. You can make money investing online by investing in online stocks and by using an online broker. Remember that you will be responsible for your choices. Stocks go up and down, and sometimes even the pros make mistakes. If you are comfortable with your stock picking skills you are probably best using an online broker instead of a real world broker. This will save you countless dollars in commission. If you are good at picking stocks, you might find yourself making a lot more money doing it by yourself.

Choosing an online broker also requires research. You want a broker that offers good price and fast execution of your stock order. Beyond that, look at what the various online brokers offer and pick the one to best suit your needs.

Online tools that can help you with stock research include Wall Street Research, Morningstar, access to SEC filings, real time stock quotes, various newsletters, and sites with company research. Using these tools takes time, so it helps to initially follow the old advice of investing in businesses you know. If you enjoy this kind of research and like picking your own stocks, making money investing online is a good option for you.

Getting Rich on the Internet

Copyright © 2006, Chris Stirling

Is it possible to make a fortune on the internet? Think about the founders of Amazon, eBay, and Yahoo. They are among those who have made a fortune on the internet.

Many websites sell systems for making a fortune on the internet. Buying these is more likely to make money for the seller than for you. A better way to get ideas is to go to your local library and check out books discussing how to make a fortune on the internet. Do it for ideas, but remember that these books were written to make money for the author. It doesn't mean that what they say actually works.

People who make a fortune on the internet have a dream and are willing to go for it. Often they invest money. To make a fortune on the internet, it helps to be among the first to identify a need, like eBay did with internet auctions. If your product is among the first, you have little competition.

To make a fortune on the internet you have to promote well. Yahoo and eBay are both an enormous success, but they had to let people know they existed to get started. If you have no traffic, you have no customers.

You can make a million in the internet. Just remember that it will take a lot of hard work. To make a million on the internet is not much different from making a million in the real world. Identify a unique market, learn all you can about it, and promote it well. From there, don't just sit back and watch it grow. Learn from it and keep improving to grow your client base. This is the best way to make a fortune on the internet.

Many people set up an internet business selling products. Sometimes that product is information. Information can include e-books and newsletters. Look at Amazon's booming business and you will see that people are still willing to pay for information.

You can sell other people's products, too. Another internet business idea is to set up a website talking about various products and providing a link where they can buy them. Affiliates receive a commission from every item bought. This works most effectively if you devote your site to one product and are willing to market your site.

Offering your services in web design or web content writing is another internet business idea. Search for clients on job boards or through ads. There are freelance boards that can give you good leads, and some where you can bid on projects.

You hear often of people running a home business by selling items at auctions and possibly setting up a storefront to go with those items. There are auction sites like eBay that sell anything, and others that are more specialized. Check the offerings of various sites before deciding where to sell.

Information: A Top Seller

Copyright © 2006, Chris Stirling

The internet was originally designed for information. It is still the place people turn to first when they need to know something. Despite the years and the amoung of knowledge on the internet, there is room for more. Information is a hot commodity.

Selling information has a lot of advantages over selling other products. One of the more obvious advantages to selling information is that the same piece can be sold over and over again. It is even better than selling a book because you don't have to print anything. Your costs to write a piece of information is the same, whether you are selling it to one person or to millions.

E-books are a popular way to sell information online. You can send your manuscript to several publishers, risking rejection letters with every one, or you can sell an ebook and never receive a rejection. There is very little cost involved, certainly a lot less than selling a product. Your biggest investment is your time.

Information sells in other formats, too. Many sites offer both free newsletters and subscription newsletters. The free newsletters are designed to hook the reader until he wants more and subscribes to the paid newletter. Often job sites will do this. Those who subscribe receive more job listings.

Information is the biggest seller on the internet. There are many ways to take advantage of this. Do some research to find the method that works best for you, and you may find you have and enjoyable way to make money.
