Thomas Edison is a prime example of a man who achieved by following the three greatest essentials of hard work, stick-to-itiveness, and common sense. In thinking about the three essentials to achievement that Thomas Edison mentions, I believe it is much like a three legged stool. You need all three legs of the stool to keep the stool standing.

A question often popping in our minds as we strive to succeed in our businesses, is,
"why do others succeed and we seem to struggle?" Fortunately, you don't have to ask that question any more!

You and I were made to achieve. We were born with a natural desire to achieve and succeed. We have the power within us to unleash this desire into a burning desire to achieve and succeed in all that we do. Realize, this power we have internally has not have been given to us to just let the power sit idle. Nor were we given this unique personal power of achievement without also being given the ability and opportunity to realize it.

You must first know your strengths and weaknesses before you can be a real achiever. Take some time to think about your business and what you want your business to be. Once your strengths and weaknesses are identified, you can begin working toward your goals and dreams.

Keep a firm understanding of the difference between achievement and success. Yes, there is a difference between achievement and success. Achievement is the knowledge you have studied, applied, and result in moving you forward in all you do. Success is being praised by others.

The key is to aim for achievement and success will follow. Break your plan into small stepping stones of achievement (i.e. Earn the Leaders Club Top Sponsor Award every month). Seeking steady progress like this will ultimately add up to long term achievement and ultimately success.

TIP » Long term achievement needs constant motivation. Spend time daily planning your business and at least 10 minutes a day building your sustainable motivation.

Things do not magically happen in this business or in life. Hoping won't make something happen either. It is the actions you take consistently that will help you unleash the power with in you to reach your goals and dreams.

As you work toward the goals and dreams you want to reach, it is important to keep in mind the three essentials Thomas Edison teaches us. Don't just work hard, also work smart. Track your progress and take consistent action. Remember, action speaks loader than words.

    Home-Based Business Owners Save Thousands on Their Income Tax!

    Do You Qualify For Home-Based Tax Deductions?

    New changes in the tax laws have made it easier than ever to claim Home Office Deductions and keep more of what you earn.

    If your home is a place of business, many of your personal expenses can be deducted as business expenses resulting in lower taxes.

    You may be thinking, "I have an Accountant/CPA/Tax Preparer/Tax Software who knows all about tax deductions so I don't have to know anything about them."

    There are several reasons why that thinking could be costing you thousands of tax dollars. Some of those reasons are:

    ·Most Accountants/CPA's/Tax Preparers do not "specialize" in Home-Based Businesses and do not keep up with the ever-changing laws pertaining to them.

    ·You are ultimately responsible for knowing what you can and cannot deduct as business expenses. Why? YOU are accountable to the IRS for your deductions, not the tax preparer.

    ··If you pay someone to do your taxes you still need to know what you can deduct so that you can gather all relevant paperwork.

    ··The most compelling reason: Getting the greatest benefit from your deductions.

    To qualify for these deductions you must meet 2 conditions, which most, if not all, Internet Marketers meet.

    Condition 1: Do you work as an Internet marketer out of your home (on your "home computer)?

    To qualify for deducting expenses related to using a workspace for business in your home, your home must be

    Your "principal place of business " or you must use the space only to earn your business income.

    ·Use it on a regular and ongoing basis to meet your clients, customers, or patients.

    AND

    Condition 2: Are you in business to make a profit?

    Whether you made a profit or not is immaterial. Even if you lost money but intended to make a profit these deductions are still available to you.

    If you answered yes to both of these questions then you do own a Home-Based Business and as such you are qualified to deduct Business Assets, Direct and Indirect Expenses.

    Business Assets include business equipment such as computer, fax machines, business furniture such as desk (your dining room table for instance), desk chair and filing cabinets.

    These are 100% deductible if they are used "exclusively" for business purposes.

    If these assets are not used "exclusively' for business the amount you can deduct is proportionally related to how much these things are used in your business. It is possible to deduct a portion of your living room, sofa, DVD player etc if you meet certain conditions.

    Direct Expenses are those directly related to conducting your business. This would include office supplies, telephone service,, cellular phones, ISP service, hosting, advertising etc. Direct expenses are generally 100% deductible.

    Indirect Expenses include such things as rent on your home, utilities including heating and air conditioning and general repairs such as replacing a roof or repainting the exterior of your home.

    These are authorized legal deductions passed into law specifically for Home-Based Businesses by congress.

    If you use your home for business purposes, many of your personal expenses can legally be converted into deductible business expenses including utilities such as heat and electricity, cleaning materials, house insurance and property taxes.

    Learn all you can about what you can deduct and you will consistently save thousands on your income tax each year.

    Often we can spend hours after hours after hours with very little result in terms of business growth. We have heard tens of thousands of claims from struggling network marketers who claim they put tons of hours and a boatload of money into their business. yet these same networkers claim they have little or no downline. They claim they have made no money. Plus they claim they are doing everything they are taught.

    As Henry David Thereau says, "It is not enough to be busy. The question is, what are we busy about?" Are you keeping busy or are you taking real action to build your business? The facts prove that most of us just keep busy. You know, the paper push which includes answering emails non related to prospects, reading articles, surfing the net for the "next best tool", and the list goes on.

    What truly will build your business is taking real ACTION! What is real action? Real action is the action that puts you in front of your prospect (i.e. prospecting phone calls, follow-up calls, etc). The bottom line is that unless you are in front of your prospect, your prospect can't buy from you. If your prospect can't buy from you, nothing is sold. If nothing is sold, no money is made. This means your business will never grow an you will always be broke hoping for your business to grow.

    We can hope and dream day in and day out. Yet unless you take action (real action), your hopes and dreams will never become a reality. So how do you take the real action? The first step is to set minimum benchmarks (i.e. 2+ a day strategy, power of 45, etc.). The next step is to track your progress over the next 6 weeks. Track everything you do, meaning everything you spend time on.
    By tracking, you will learn the real truth - whether or not you are keeping busy or taking real action. If you are not reaching your benchmarks, it is critical you make changes in your schedule to make certain you are at least achieving your minimum benchmarks (your minimum standard of performance). If you are not achieving your benchmarks, you should be fired!

    Yes, that is right - FIRED! You see, the minimum standards of performance on benchmarks (i.e. 2+ a day strategy, power of 45, etc.) are designed for the part time marketer. The benchmarks require 8 to 10 hours of "action" time - time in front of your prospect. Anything less and you can never expect your business to grow.

    The reason your business will not grow is that any actions less than the minimum standard will not allow you to keep ahead of the attrition rates. This is why so many people never seem to get their business into profit. If you personally sponsor above the threshold of attrition, you will continue to have growth. To accomplish such a task you must set and achieve your personal benchmarks as well as teach benchmarking to your team.

    So the big question we must ask, "Are you keeping busy or are you taking real action?"

    How big of a deal is click fraud?

    Recently Google was named in a class action lawsuit for $90 million for click fraud and agreed to pay the fine. According to the deal Google will pay advertisers a credit for future clicks, based on improper charges going back to 2002.

    Now this may sound like a lot of money, and it is to the average person or small business,
    but compared to well over ten billion dollars of clicks they've sold since AdWords started, this is spare change. It's less than 1%.

    If you've paid much attention to this you see that Google doesn't say very much about it. Why? Because they just can't. If they told everyone what techniques they use to detect it, people who do click fraud would find more ways to get around it.

    What we do know is that if someone clicks on your ad twice or more in 30 days, you
    only get charged one time. The most obvious kinds of click fraud, like your competitor repeatedly clicking on your ad, are easily detected and you don't get charged. Furthermore, AdSense advertisers who get caught for click fraud get clicked out.

    Click fraud is a common fear when people are setting up a advertising campaign using Pay Per Click, or PPC, forms of advertising. But how big of a deal is click fraud?

    First you need to understand how click prices determined in the first place.

    A lot of people determine their bid prices by guessing a number and then bidding. But
    the way people should determine bids is to figure out how much a click is worth in the first place, by tracking conversion of sales or sales leads. Then pay accordingly.

    Hopefully if you are running a PPC campaign you are doing that. If you're not, you're losing WAY more money than click fraud would ever cost you.

    Not tracking your conversion rates of sale or sales leads it is sort of like a store owner who never takes inventory and then complaining about shoplifters. How do you know if your inventory is stolen if you never count it? In PPC campaigns if you do not know what return you will receive for a visit to your site how do you know that you are not paying too much?

    Let me repeat: If you're not tracking conversion of clicks to sales leads or sales, it's costing you WAY more money than click fraud.

    Here is an example of how click fraud is not as bad as not tracking your conversion rates and guessing at your bid prices.

    Lets say you get a click fraud problem on one certain keyword. For about 3-4
    days you receive 3X the normal amount of traffic. You think this is a bad thing right?

    Well here is what will happen.

    Your Click Thru Rate will go up, your ad will move up in the rankings. A higher location in the rankings will generate you more desired traffic. As you receive more traffic Google will charge you less for clicks because of the high CTR. Since you have determined your click price by accurately tracking your conversion rates you know that each visit to your site is revenue positive. So, as your ad increases in the rankings you can receive more traffic to your site at less cost per click. Since you started with the right bid price you are now receiving more traffic but with lower cost per clicks. As a result of Google's CTR formula they inherently give you discounts for click fraud. Not a total solution, but it does help.

    Although click fraud is not healthy for the PPC industry as my example shows it is not the main reason for people loosing money on their PPC campaigns. The bigger culprit is people guessing at their bid values per keyword and not tracking their conversion rates. If you start off with an accurate bid price than click fraud can increase your traffic and decrease your cost per click.
